As if the added money stress isn't enough, the added foods that you wouldn't normally eat could virtually kill you. It doesn't have to be that way. Take a deep breath, and think about the season. This is the season to be joyful for the things that you have.
If you have good health and clean, conscious eating habits, not to worry. If you have high blood pressure, or high cholesterol, you just need to be a little more conscious.
First of all, if your blood pressure goes into a fight or flight mode and you're feeling edgy and nervous, your blood glucose is going to elevate too. Adding that wonderful chocolate candy, along with those awesome cream cheesy appetizers isn't a good idea.
Before going to a holiday party, I would suggest having some simple appetizers before you leave home. Try to stay away from carbs. Celery and low fat cheese is a good one. An apple, banana, or even some left over vegetables would suffice. This will keep you from inhaling the cheesy, gooey food table once you have a glass of wine.
Relax, and have a joyful holiday season. Your healthy lifestyle will be back in order by January 1, the new decade. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
